When most people go on a diet, their goal is to lose x number of pounds in two months, before a vacation, for a wedding, etc. It is a temporary period of deprivation. Once they hit their goal weight or target date, they go back to how things were and eventually, the default setting takes over.

People fail and then wonder what’s wrong with them. Nothing is wrong with you; you need to work with your biology and normalize hormones to affect lasting change.

Starving your body of calories will down-shift your metabolism, and you’ll end up burning fewer calories. This is our survival mechanism at work.
